Officials Find No Wrongdoing in ‘Pizza-for-Vote’ Complaint

Download MP3Now, a follow-up to a story from last week -- elections officials have ruled on the complaint over a pizza party offered to Ohio State students by Democrats. Ohio Public Radio’s Karen Kasler reports.
Officials with the Franklin County Board of Elections say they have investigated and found no wrongdoing in an alleged pizza-for-votes complaint filed by the Ohio Republican Party. The Ohio GOP claimed that the Ohio Democratic Party and the student group ‘Buckeyes 4 Obama’ were breaking elections law by offering pizza and a ride to the county’s early voting center.
Board director Bill Anthony, a Democrat, and deputy director Dana Walch, a Republican, noted that some students did help themselves to pizza that was available where the groups were set up at the Ohio Union, but that no students were lured by the free food into voting, or were told how to vote.
