A group of pastors from around the state have met with Secretary of State Jon Husted. Reverend Nelson Pierce of the Beloved Community Church in Cincinnati says the clergy members asked Husted to allow for some early in person voting on weekends.
Pierce: “We wanted to ask for one weekend of voting to be made available on the last weekend of October for those counties who saw fit to participate in it and that in cases where boards of elections were split on that vote, that he would break the tie in favor of making that weekend available”
Pierce said Husted told the pastors he won’t allow weekend voting. But Pierce said Husted did promise to meet with the pastors, after the election, to figure out ways to improve the voting process in the future.
