Other students remain hospitalized at MetroHealth, Hillcrest hospitals.
Updating the horrific story from this morning, beginning about 7:30 when peace was shattered by gunfire inside Chardon High School.
Four students are confirmed as injured, and one has died.
The Geauga County Sheriff’s office and the FBI confirmed that it was a sole gunman responsible, a student, and now under arrest - but not yet charged.
The details are still emerging, but ideastream’s Michelle Kanu talked with Rick Jackson at noon today.
The students were evacuated and all six schools in Chardon are closed.
Grief counselors will be brought in later Monday to speak with students, parents, staff, and community members as needed.
Further updates will be provided from the FBI, Chardon Police, and the Geauga County Sheriff’s office throughout the day.
