As we’ve heard this morning, a solution to the stalemate over raising the U.S. debt ceiling remains elusive. This past week we spoke with Democratic Congresswoman Betty Sutton of Ohio’s 13th district, who indicated that she generally opposes cuts to programs like Medicare or Social Security and would favor measures to increase federal tax revenues. On Friday we caught up with Ohio Republican Congressman Steve LaTourette. He spoke with ideastream’s Bill Rice about the prospects for a resolution by the Tuesday deadline.
