ideastream Documentary Explores Organ Transplantation

There are thousands of people in Ohio waiting for an organ transplant. The list gets longer and longer as diseases like diabetes continue to take a toll. All this week on radio, television and web, ideastream is telling stories about organ donation – the science, the risks and the rewards. Kay Colby is the producer of a documentary which takes viewers inside the operating room and tells the story of four families involved in the process. It debuts at 8:00 pm on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Colby spoke with ideastream's Eric Wellman.
