Dr. Paul Vanek of Mentor had never served in a disaster area, until this past week. He was watching CNN, and was so touched by the story of a little girl trapped under rubble in Haiti that he knew he wanted to help. 48 hours later, Dr. Vanek was on the ground in Port-au-Prince along with three colleagues. He's a plastic surgeon at Lake Health and trained in level 1 trauma. He spoke with ideastream®'s Eric Wellman shortly after returning home.
