Diabetes: The Constant Shadow

All this week ideastream is presenting special coverage across all our platforms -- television, radio and web -- of this often overlooked disease. It's part of a larger series of health specials we're producing on "chronic killers,"and diabetes fits that description to a tee. It's the nation's 6th leading cause of death. If everyone who died of a diabetes-related illness was counted, it would come in third -- just behind heart disease and cancer. ideastream health reporter Gretchen Cuda talks with Eric Wellman about the series, and the disease.
