Connection Between SAD and Sleep

Mood swings. Sleepiness Weight gain. These are all symptoms of Seasonal Affective Disorder, appropriately nicknamed SAD. The symptoms tend to get worsen this time of year when the days are at their shortest. Experts studying the disorder are learning there be a connection between SAD and sleep. People who get fewer hours each night may be more susceptible. On Mondays we talk health with a local physician and doctor Gaylee McCracken is with us this week. She's an internist at University Hospitals.
