Analyst: This Is 'Day 1 Of A Reorganization' For Ohio Democrats

Republicans soundly beat Democrats across the country last night, including taking all statewide races in Ohio. While we wait to see the agenda of a bolstered Republican Statehouse and re-elected governor, there is a question to where the election leaves state Democrats, especially after gubernatorial candidate Ed Fitzgerald's brutal defeat.

For perspective, ideastream's Tony Ganzer called David Niven, who teaches political science at the University of Cincinnati, and he's a former speechwriter for Democratic Governor Ted Strickland.

Tony Ganzer has reported from Phoenix to Cairo, and was the host of 90.3's "All Things Considered." He was previously a correspondent with the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation, covering issues like Swiss banks, Parliament, and refugees. He earned an M.A. in International Relations (University of Leicester); and a B.Sc. in Journalism (University of Idaho.) He speaks German, and a bit of French.
