THE AFRICAN COUNTRY ON THE NORTH SHORE OF THE CONTINENT JUST RE-ELECTED IT’S PRESIDENT. THE COUNTRY HAS A GOVERNMENT SIMILAR TO OURS WITH THREE BRANCHES: LEGISLATIVE, JUDICIAL, AND EXECUTIVE.

LAST WEEK, UHURU KENYATTA WAS SWORN IN FOR HIS SECOND FIVE-YEAR TIME AS THE NATION’S PRESIDENT.

[SOT: SWEARING IN]

WHILE THOUSANDS IN ATTENDANCE CHEERED HIM ON, THE ELECTION WAS SURROUNDED BY CONTROVERSY, WITH ALLEGATIONS OF VOTE TAMPERING. THE COURTS THERE DECIDED TO OVERTURN THE FIRST PRESIDENTIAL VOTE THAT THEY HELD. THE RE-VOTE IN OCTOBER WAS ACCEPTED THOUGH – KENYATTA WON 98 PERCENT OF IT.
