The Sound of Ideas: Monday, July 23, 2007
Imagine if you could take all the weeds from your garden, or all the corn stalks on a field at the end of the harvest, and turn them it all into fuel or plastics. That may sound a bit far fetched, but it's at the heart of something called biomass technology. Scientists say the potential for biomass is enormous and Ohio could be a major player. Monday morning on The Sound of Ideas, we'll chat with some of the scientists leading this new revolution in energy and polymer technology. Join us with your questions. It starts at nine on 90.3.
Weekly Business Roundup for Friday, July 20, 2007
Podcasts: Friday, July 20, 2007
One of this week's more interesting business stories may have slipped past your perception, or at least your understanding. It's the story of a successful local company, over 650 employees - the kind of success story that local leaders love. This past Tuesday, it was announced that this company was so successful that a majority of it's stock is being bought out by owners who are based out of state. How does that sound to you? Bad news that an outsider is taking something away from Northeast Ohio? That's not the way Scott Roulston looks at it. He's the managing partner at Fairport Asset Management. He joins us every Friday with his thoughts on the world of business.
