Searching for a job can be quite a difficult task, especially in a struggling economy. Even though the recent economic news has been dismal, there are still many opportunities available for those seeking employment. “The unemployment rate has risen, but it is not at a point that should cause job seekers to panic,” says John Challenger, CEO of outplacement firm Challenger, Gray & Christmas Inc. “There is still demand for workers. Those seeking jobs in construction or mortgage lending might have a more difficult time finding employment, but we have not seen a significant downturn in hiring in other sectors” (Source: Yahoo HotJobs). Developing a job search strategy, opening yourself up to new options, avoiding frustration, and seeking available assistance are the first steps on the road to finding a new job.
