National Healthy Skin Month

November is designated National Healthy Skin Month. Your skin is your body’s first defense against disease and infection, and protects internal organs from injuries. The largest organ in the body, skin helps regulate body temperature, prevents excess fluid loss, and it helps your body remove excess water and salt.
Your skin is also dynamic and constantly changing. In fact, it regenerates itself approximately every 27 days. This makes it essential for everyone to examine their skin on a regular basis. Familiarize yourself with it, so you’ll notice any changes that might occur, such as different moles or patches that might indicate skin cancer.
