Halloween Safety Month

Halloween can be an enjoyable time for both children and adults alike.  In the excitement of the night, though, children often forget to be careful and sometimes put themselves in hazardous situations.  A study conducted by the Center for Disease Control from 1975 to 1996 found that the number of deaths among young pedestrians (ages 5-14) is four times higher on Halloween evening than any other evening of the year (Source: Progressive).  Despite this sobering statistic, accidents can be prevented and dangerous situations can be avoided.  Parents and children need to be informed of potential risks and the necessary precautions to ensure that everyone has a safe and entertaining night.
