When you are watching television, do you notice how many talk shows and news reports are about breast cancer survivors and fundraisers to help with doing more research for finding a cure and better health solutions for breast cancer? Well that’s because breast cancer has been on the rise and it is affecting patients everywhere. Instead of fearing breast cancer, decide to confront it head-on. 70% of breast cancer cases are self-detected. One out of eight women will develop breast cancer over the course of a lifetime. Here are a few tips to help you decrease you risk for breast cancer:

• Limit Alcohol – Consider limiting alcohol consumption to less than one drink a day or avoid alcohol completely.
• Maintain A Healthy Weight – Doctors have found a link between obesity and breast cancer
• Stay Physically Active – Exercise regularly!
• Consider Limiting Fat In Your Diet – A low-fat diet may help you reduce your risk of breast cancer. Try to eat less than 35% fat in your daily diet and eliminate as many foods with saturated fat as possible.
