Dr. William H. Dietz is the former director of the division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. He’s also been with Tufts University’s School of Medicine and the New England Medical Center Hospitals and he’s authored myriad papers on obesity. He received the 2006 Nutrition Research Award from the American Academy of Pediatrics for outstanding research in pediatric nutrition and ideastream’s Rick Jackson got a chance to sit down with him when he was in town to further the discussion on the obesity epidemic.
