The head of the Transportation Security Administration is taking the heat for a new passenger pat-down procedure that’s more invasive than what travelers were used to in the past. Some complain that the inspections target sensitive body areas. The TSA says they understand those privacy concerns, but they argue the government must provide the best possible security for air travelers.
Farewell Greetings?
Officials of all political stripes have joined in an effort to keep American Greetings from packing up and leaving its world headquarters in Brooklyn, Ohio. The company has said that local taxes are too high. The politicians hope to keep the greeting card giant here with its hefty payroll.
Ohio Joins A Group Investigating Mortgage Fraud
Regulators from all 50 states are investigating fraudulent documents that may have been used to foreclose on millions of homeowners. Ohio has joined 11 state attorneys general and three banking regulators in their investigation. The group is trying to determine whether mortgage servicers have wrongly submitted documents to pursue foreclosures.
Pay Me Now or Pay Me Later
RTA officials had a plan to lay stiff fines on kids who boarded buses and trains without paying. But, that idea was scuttled this week by Board Chair George Dixon who said he feared that young black men would bear the brunt of the punishment. His critics are not at all happy about this U-Turn.
“FAN”- atics
A family from Painesville had some choice words for a few Browns fans. It seems that our city’s “fan”-atics did not the like the uniform of the Browns’ opposing team, the Jets. An 8 year old boy who is a Jets fan was wearing his colors proudly, BUT young lad and assaulted him with expletives and hot dogs. He was even allegedly tackled by an adult in a parking lot. The boy’s family is asking for increased safety and civility at Browns Stadium.
