Charlise Lyles, author, Do I Dare Disturb the Universe?
She was a child of the Cleveland projects who’s gone on to a successful career in journalism. She wrote of her journey in her book, recently updated and re-issued by Cleveland’s Gray & Company. After spending her early adolescence in the King-Kennedy Estates, she got the chance to attend the prestigious Hawken School where she embraced the academic challenges she’d been craving. After Hawken and college, she was ready for a journalism career, which continues, with a focus on coverage of public education.
