Ohio Educational Standards: Technology Standards

All WVIZ/PBS & 90.3 WCPN ideastream professional learning sessions offered to educators are aligned to the current Ohio Academic Content Standards and the Revised Ohio Academic Content Standards (adopted 2010 – implementation begins 2014). As well, ideastream aligns each professional learning session with standards that key national education organizations have identified as important skills for the 21st century learner.

Each professional learning session offered to teachers in the area of educational technology made available through ideastream supports the integration of technology into content areas. The technology standards addressed in the ideastream professional learning include:

Of the seven (7) Ohio Technology Standards, one or more of the following three (3) standards are integrated into every professional learning session. They are:

  • Standard 3: Technology for Productive Applications - Students learn the operations of technology through the usage of technology and productivity tools.
  • Standard 4: Technology for Communication Applications - Students use an array of technologies and apply design concepts to communicate with multiple audiences, acquire and disseminate information, and enhance learning.
  • Standard 5: Technology for Information Literacy - Students engage information literacy strategies, use the internet, technology tools and resources, and apply information management skills to answer questions and expand knowledge.

All professional learning sessions made available to teaching professionals by ideastream are fully aligned to the Ohio Academic Content Standards.
