Looking for standards-based professional learning? ideastream offers a wealth of professional learning opportunities.

WVIZ/PBS’s Educational Services Department provides a wide array of Professional Learning opportunities to thousands of educators in over 200 school districts in an eleven county area in Northeast Ohio. WVIZ/PBS’s technology training services can be tailored to a district’s needs from novice to the scholar and can be provided in the teaching labs of WVIZ/PBS ideastream, in your school district, or via Distance Learning. WVIZ/PBS provides the availability of graduate credit for workshops that meet university requirements.

Feb. 7: Receive an in-depth understanding of Google Documents, Forms, Calendar, Sheets, Apps and much more.  See how easy it is to make Google a part of your daily teaching.  Receive expert guidance from our Google Certified Educator.  Begin developing a Google lesson to be presented at the next session. 

Feb. 28: Received advanced instruction on all of the Google topics from the previous session.  Fine-tune your lesson and present to the class for constructive feedback.

Earn one graduate credit from The University of Akron, Ashland University, John Carroll University or Cleveland State University
for an additional fee.

We are looking for dedicated people who want to become Google Certified Educators.  In four weeks of intense study we will take you through all the necessary coursework to be prepared to take the Google exams.* Become recognized for your mastery in Gmail, Calendar, Docs & Drive, Sites and one elective.  Join us in person or over videoconferencing. 

DATES Tuesdays and Thursdays:  Feb. 17, 19, 24, 26, Mar. 3, 5, 10, 12, 4pm to 6pm

COST $40 per person at the Idea Center or $30 per person via video conference.  You must have video conferencing equipment or Real Presence software to participate in this manner.

GRADUATE CREDIT Receive two graduate credits from either Ashland University for an additional $320, or The University of Akron for an additional $360.

The iPad Learning Center

Mimio Interactive
Cost: $1,009 (includes one mimio interactive bar and wireless device and training for (1) three hour training session for two participants) or $1,818 (includes two mimio interactive bar and wireless device and training for (1) three hour training session for four participants) $100 for each additional participant.  Create a dynamic, inexpensive, interactive work surface with mimio® interactive.

A Technology Concierge at Your School
Cost: $400 for the three hours.  Is your staff experiencing trouble with tasks in Microsoft Office, the SMART Board, or any other technology? An ideastream® staff member will visit your school for three hours and conduct small group sessions or and/or visit classrooms.
