Please join us for a panel discussion of state leaders focused on the PISA (Program for International Student Assessment), NAEP (National Assessment of Educational Progress) and PARCC (Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers) assessments. How are our state leaders interpreting these results and turning them into actionable items that local school districts will have to grapple with? The panelists will discuss the implications of the results of these tests on Ohio education, the meaning of Ohio’s results and the effects they could have on state-wide curricular initiatives and classroom teachers.
RSVP: Michael Edelman, (216) 916-6422 or by email.
We’re expecting a large crowd, so RSVP as soon as possible!
Since 2003, over 3 million K-12 education stakeholders have participated in the annual Speak Up National Research Project which collects and reports on the authentic, unfiltered views and opinions of K-12 students, parents and educators on critical 21st century education issues. Speak Up is facilitated by Project Tomorrow®. Data findings are shared each year with federal, state and local policymakers to inform education programs and funding.
About Speak Up Ohio 2013:
Attention all Ohio students! Showcase your creative talents and technology skills in a video contest with students across Ohio. How do you use technology to learn? Sharing your ideas in a video will show others how to use technology to learn.
Videos must be one to three minutes in length and feature the technology you use to learn. With more than 5,000 attendees, the Ohio Educational Technology Conference, Jan. 27-29, 2014, will feature the finalists’ videos. The announcement of the winning videos will be on Digital Learning Day, Feb. 5, 2014, and featured on the Digital Learning Day website.
You can create a video on your own or with a team. Submission deadline for videos is end of the day on Jan. 6, 2014.
