Based on his own life experience, Pulitzer nominee Clifton Taulbert has teamed up with entrepreneurial thought leader Gary Schoeniger to create Who Owns the Ice House?, a powerful and compelling story that captures the essence of an entrepreneurial mindset and the unlimited opportunities it can provide.

Drawing on the wisdom he gained from his Uncle Cleve, Who Owns the Ice House? chronicles Taulbert’s journey from his life in the Mississippi Delta at the height of legal segregation to being recognized by Time Magazine as “one of our nation’s most outstanding emerging entrepreneurs.” While Taulbert describes the life-changing influence of his Uncle Cleve, Schoeniger captures the entrepreneurial life lessons that can empower anyone to succeed.

WVIZ/PBS ideastream and the Efficient Government Network co-hosted a state wide Shared Services Expo for the purpose of promoting awareness and best practices in improving operations and reducing costs. Several hundred government agencies and organizations including, police, fire, county commissioners, mayors, superintendents and health care providers came together at ideastream to learn how to develop their own shared services initiatives. A group of panelists was convened to discuss their personal experiences in developing shared services initiatives.

David Pogue speaks to an audience of educators concerning the power of technology as a teaching and learning tool. Additionally, he highlights the ways that social media has changed the ways today’s students process information, learn, and communicate. Throughout the presentation, he highlights applications that can be used to inspire learners of all ages.

Pogue is the host of “NOVA Science Now” and other science shows on PBS. He is a technology columnist for The New York Times and Scientific American, and a correspondent for “CBS Sunday Morning.”

A native of Shaker Heights, Ohio, David graduated from Yale in 1985 and spent 10 years conducting and arranging Broadway Musicals in New York.

During 2012, school, after school and summer camp in Slavic Village included Ready to Learn programs and activities from WVIZ/PBS ideastream. The Ready to Learn project’s objective is to increase math and literacy achievement with fun games and programs. Working with partners, ideastream connected with students, parents and teachers to engage young children in learning using the PBSKids LAB computer games, classroom lessons and fun home activities.

On September 4, over 240 students and teachers from Cleveland’s MC2 STEM and Lincoln-West schools, Cleveland Heights’ Gearity STEM Elementary School, and Berea’s Roehm Middle School joined NASA Glenn Research Center personnel at WVIZ/PBS ideastream's Westfield Insurance Studio Theatre™ to "Kick Off the Year with STEM!
