Voices in Black History

Session Time: 1:30 to 2:15 p.m.

Griot Jimmie Woody exposes students to the literature and speeches of pivotal African-Americans.
Students will receive quotes from several speeches and songs and have opportunities to interpret and perform for each other with theatrical flare. Teaching artist Jimmie Woody will guide students through acting warm ups and small group activities to find their inner griot.
Teachers will be provided a sheet with quotes after they register.
