Careers in Sports Medicine

Session #1 9:00 to 9:45 a.m.
Session #2 10:00 to 10:45 a.m.

Sports medicine is a broad and fast-growing health care career field that focuses on helping people improve their athletic performance, recover from injury and prevent future injuries. Sports medicine professionals also help to improve the quality of life and health of ‘regular’ people as well as athletes by promoting physical activity and maintenance of healthy lifestyles.

In this program, you will interact with panelists from The University of Akron’s School of Sports Science and Wellness Education as they share information on academic programs and careers in athletic training, exercise science, physical education, sports studies and more. These careers also have strong connections to many other healthcare careers such as nursing, nutrition/dietetics and physical therapy. The career path you take will depend on your interests, your educational goals and the environment where you want to work.

Schools interested in participating in this educational opportunity should contact John Ramicone at 216-916-6360 or by March 27th.
