Cleveland Clinical and Translational Science Collaborative researchers describe the epidemic disease - obesity, its causes and consequences, links to other diseases, treatment and prevention, current obesity research, future outlook and related careers.
This three-part series engages students (Grades 7-12) in conversations with medical professionals who will discuss diseases of public health concern – diabetes, obesity, and heart disease. Local medical researchers and experts from top medical institutions (Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic, Metrohealth Medical Center, University Hospitals at Case Medical Center, and Louis Stokes VA Medical Center) will explain the science behind diabetes, obesity and heart disease. They will describe how their innovative research contributes to prevention and treatment of these diseases.
