The MLT performs testing on blood and body fluids to determine the presence, extent or absence of disease and provide data needed to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. MLT’s are responsible for the operation of computers, precision instruments and other complex electronic equipment that is used in the clinical laboratory. Most Medical Laboratory Technologists work in hospitals, but many other MLT’s are employed in clinics, in forensic laboratories and industrial laboratories. Today a shortage of qualified laboratory employees exists.
Join us as our guests discuss the education background, training and skills needed to work in this important and demanding career field.
