Hacked: The Threat of Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity issues are at the forefront of American politics. From the hacking of social media accounts to online fraud to medical identity theft, Americans are at an increased risk of having their personal data stolen. In a recent speech given at the Federal Trade Commission, President Obama stated "more than 100 million Americans have had their personal data compromised" in recent breaches. Because of this, The White House is drafting legislation the Consumer Privacy Bill of Rights and, separately, will propose new legislation and executive actions on corporate cybersecurity.
