ideastream’s Lauren Wilson introduces us to Margret Mueller in Cleveland’s Larchmere Arts District whose business plan went from collecting rent to pocketing tips at her restaurant, Felice Urban Café.

Putting up a tree is one of the most celebrated traditions of Christmas: 40 million fir trees are sold every season. Some say that the yuletide evergreen symbolizes the Paradise Tree, from which Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit. Others claim that the tree is a metaphor for the cross upon which Christ was crucified. Christmas traditions and lore are of particular interest to local florist Bill Hixson. He’s written about them, built a business around them, and decorated the trees of Presidents and Kings.

If you’re still looking for a unique gift to go under your holiday tree you may want to consider going high tech. Our resident gadget guru Jared Bendis, Creative New Media Officer, Case Western Reserve University previews some of the hottest new tech toys for Christmas.

And if high-tech isn't on your holiday wish list, maybe something more traditional is. Fabric Artist Karen Mulier of London, Ohio uses early methods of weaving and her love of Alpacas to make one-of-a-kind clothing items.Felice Pierce, Felice Urban Cafe
