Former Cleveland Indians All-Star shortstop Omar Vizquel discusses how his visits to museums and galleries during his playing days led to an interest in painting. Percussionist Bobby Sanabria shares music from his Grammy nominated Afro-Cuban recording “Multiverse”…and Dr. Regennia Williams talks about her book “Homegoings, Crossings, and Passings” which examines the life of the African diaspora through the way it deals with death.

The exhibit of paintings “New Works” by Omar Vizquel is on view at Convivium33 Gallery through August 4, 2013.
Bobby Sanabria will be part of a free recital held Friday July 12th at 7pm in Cleveland State University’s Drinko Recital Hall. The performance is part of the 9th annual Roberto Ocasio Latin Jazz Music Camp.
