Latest ideastream production celebrates 100 years of Cleveland Play House

Sept. 20, 2016 (Cleveland) – WVIZ/PBS ideastream will premiere its latest documentary production this Friday in celebration of a long-standing Cleveland theatrical organization, Cleveland Play House. This new documentary is narrated by Emmy® Award-winner Marlo Thomas and dives into the legacy of the history-making regional theater. By watching this 30-minute program, viewers will gain a clear understanding of the importance of Cleveland Play House—not only to local audiences, but to the entire country.

What: The premiere broadcast of America’s Theater: Cleveland Play House

When: Friday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m.

  • Saturday, Sept. 24 at 3 a.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3:30 p.m.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 2 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2:30 p.m.

The program features interviews with CPH alumni, including Academy Award®-winning actor Joel Grey and actor Rich Sommer from the hit AMC series Mad Men, along with Chicago Tribune Chief Theater Critic Chris Jones. These featured contributors share what Cleveland Play House means to them and to the theater industry as a whole.
