June 3, 2016 (CLEVELAND) – Celebrating its 20 th Anniversary, the WVIZ/PBS Grand Tastings & Seminars will return to the Terrace Club at Progressive Field on Nov. 11 and 12, 2016 and welcome a new presenting sponsor, Giant Eagle. United Airlines joins the event as the exclusive airline partner as well as supporting sponsor.
“For 85 years Giant Eagle has been dedicated to giving back to the communities we serve, and we are thrilled to be involved with an event that benefits one of our main focus areas – education,” said Brian McDole, Senior Director of Beer, Wine and Liquor for Giant Eagle, Inc. “We strive to be Cleveland’s beer, wine and liquor destination, and look forward to engaging the customers, wineries and distributors that will participate in this wonderful event.”
Based on survey feedback, the event format will offer a Grand Tasting at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11 followed by six seminars on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 1-5 p.m., and conclude with a second Grand Tasting at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. Organizers are planning for a more robust mobile auction that includes wine and travel benefits, a Super-Pass that includes access to all events, and hotel packages to more fully enjoy the downtown Cleveland experience. Tickets go on sale July 1 and include discounts for area Wine Club members, young professionals and sponsor organizations. Tickets include access to the tastings, a supper and dessert buffet, a souvenir wine glass and plate, access to the mobile auction, and a complimentary subscription to Wine Spectator.
